Titanic99
You know people that want to pay more tax then, and have greater state interference in their lives? Yep me, I'm happy to pay more tax to allow my children to go to a decent, modern and safe school. Which would you prefer, kids in the old run down schools we saw under the previous Tory Government. Here's some pictures for you to look at. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10508393

You could instead send them to a private school I finished school in 1997, so I had my whole education entirely in Tory years. There was nothing wrong with the school I went to, and it got a brand new building around 1995. New school buildings were not Labour government exclusives you know. I1L2T3
;8105863']I'd rather vote for a libertarian party if I could and if the vote was viable. The UK's current socialist policies have done great harm to the country over the past 15 years. But they weren't socialist. They were a continuation of the neoliberal experiment started in the 80s. The rich got richer. The banks gained more control. Corporations gained more control. Export industry was destroyed.
sccsux
Now I realise that the only person I can truly rely on to be on my side is me. Never a truer word typed. They'd all stab you in the back if the need arose.
Tony
Sadly sccsux, 'tis the nature of the game with the silly political system that we have. I'd happily support politicians that want fewer politicians, less government, and less involvement in your life and mine. Stupid question and stupid poll. The OP asks if anyone would vote scum Tory in local AND national elections but the poll itself presents an either or choice, albeit with an option to vote for both for the serious masochist. Will the last Tory in Yorkshire please do us all a favour and eff off down South. Thank you for your contribution. To the best of my knowledge you have the same privileges on SF as I do. If you are interested in something different then go ahead and create your own poll. This is my poll and my OP and I wasn't interested in what you wanted to ask, I was interested in the question in the OP. So, could I ask that you reflect on the OP for any further insightful response that you wish to make? Thanks.
Cyclone
It like election day, if you want to vote "no" you just don't cast a vote. Simples, as they apparently say on ITV. On election day the sample size is know, ie how many registered voters are there. So "no" votes registered by not voting can be given a number. This is completely meaningless as you've no idea how many people are 'voting' no by not voting yes.
Tony
The comparison is clearly between Conservative voters voting in national and local elections. It's not about anyone else and frankly this discussion seems to be a bit of a struggle for no good reason.
Cyclone
I don't think you made your intention clear then, and to achieve that aim I think the poll should have been constructed differently. For example; Answers, choose one, not multiples I would vote conservative at both national and local level I would vote conservative at only local level I would vote conservative at only national level This would give you much more easily interpretable figures. Stoatwobbler
exactly. There's nothing secret about it. There are conservatives here like there are everywhere. There are Conservatives in Sheffield, just not very many of them, and given their tendency towards holding everyone else in Sheffield in contempt they are not likely to be taking over from the Lib Dems as the local alternative to Labour anytime soon.
