longbeard81
I'm 30 in a few weeks and would love to have a ceilidh band play but would need quite a large dance area and preferably not too expensive! If you can comment on room/ceilidh band recommendations they'd be gratefully received! Ta
Longcol
I think Malin Bridge Sports & Social Club might be a decent venue - big room and reasonably priced bar. As for the band then Jack's Rake might do the job (one of them posts on SF quite often). They may well know other venues.
Lockjaw
As if by magic, the shopkeeper guy from the band appeared. Hiya Longbeard. We'd be delighted to come and play for you if there are enough of us available to do it. Email me on sf@jacksrake.co.uk for details ... If we can't do it I'll point you in the direction of a couple of other bands who may be free. As for venues, church halls and the like usually do the job - we've done ceilidhs in quite a few around the city - though you may have to contact a fair few given the short notice.
