Stop the War Coalition Mass Assembly Trafalgar Square Saturday 8th October

Recommended Posts

On Saturday 8th October 20 members of the Chesterfield Stop War Coalition will be travelling to London to attend the mass assembly called by the Stop War Coalition in Trafalgar Square for mid-day. The mass assembly is being called to mark ten years of this appalling and dreadful war in one of the worlds poorest countries. Thousands of innocent Afghan civilians have been killed or wounded along with almost 400 British troops killed and thousands seriously injured. It has now become a war without end and it is simply unsustainable in terms of troop losses and also the billions of pounds it is costing the UK. We need welfare not warfare in the UK and I would urge you to support the Assembly on Saturday 8th October. Contrary to what the government and media tell you 71% of people in the UK do NOT support this war.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS-BRING THEM HOME NOW !

Labour MP Louise Ellman has called on the Stop the War Coalition to dissociate itself from the Muslim Association of Britain for the anti-war march in London on Saturday.

Mrs Ellman, MP for Liverpool Riverside, said in a statement: "The alliance between the Coalition and the Muslim Association of Britain is leading genuine opponents of the war into an alliance with supporters of suicide bombings and those who propagate anti-Semitism.

"The Coalition should dissociate itself from this Association and allow opponents of the war with Iraq to march with their cause untainted by supporters of suicide bombers."
