Sierra
I mention this after just watching a prog about people baking cakes on BBC 2. This rather large lady gave of an expression of having a jolly demure, but my overall feeling is she felt very bad about herself. This theory is added by my experience in the pub last night. Sat on my own again, drinking like a madman, I observed fat ladies laughing out loud and throwing themselves on stick insect junkie men. And fat blokes. Later in the night, two of theses fat ladies broke down in tears and one shouted that she is deeply unhappy with her life. Are fat women hiding? Are fat women deeply unhappy? Excuse me, but didn't your avatar used to be a large woman sitting next to a very small man? I suspect you are secretly a chubby chaser. Admit it. Rampent
I agree but are we like that because of TV, film and other media or do we genuinely prefer a different kind of woman. Would it matter were it not for advertising? Advertising plays a massive role, for sure. But don't the advertisers 'feed' of what the general viewers want? If the next hollywood blockbuster about action and effects, would they place a large lady in the starring role, and would you pay to see it? Would it make a profit if, say, Jo Brand was the leading actress?
Rampent
Deeply unhealthy, out of breath, sweaty, arthritic, diabetic but not always unhappy. Have you hit a root nerve, with this post?
fruitisbad
Sure, but most men like fit ladies, don't they? I have never seen a plump page 3 lady. why do women have to strive to achieve what most men want?

I think the ideal has been manufactured and sold to us and it's difficult to accept anything else.

Murphy Jnr
why do women have to strive to achieve what most men want? I don't know that they do, there's plenty aim for that so called perfection because of what it means, because it supposedly leads to success. They're as brainwashed as the rest of us.
