LDeville Posted September 28, 2011 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Hi Petrol and diesel stolen in the se England is being sold locally and at times driven up north and sold for between 4and 60p a litre Criminal and now organised criminal gangs are stealing from farms, country homes where diesel is used for heating. Theft of heating and diesel oil has been a problem for many years but petrol is now being stolen as well as farms, country homes and lorry parks are better protected and these on the whole use diesel. in London cars parked on roads are being targeted and hundreds of pounds worth of damage is caused, plus real risk of fire. During the last 20 years, most cars and vans come with plastic fuel tanks and crims in London have make plastic containers of an oblong shape about 6 inches thick and hole on top to catch the fuel from hole in tank, cap it and put it in the back of a van. Stolen fuel is then sold on the whole on estates, farms and companies that operate large vheicles, sold at more than a 160% below pump prices. Police reports indicate that where as a few years ago those that bought stolen fuel were few and far between, with the recession and sky high prices of fuel, more and more, including ordinary people ie non business types are buying as fuel prices are so high. The only way to protect your car is park it in a secure car park or garage - alertantives are well lit areas. A friend of ours who runs a skip hire business had 3000 worth of diesel stolen and 5000 worht of damage and several thousand pounds loss of business. The bottom line is that criminal would rarely steal fuel if there was no market for it. We believe that those caught on the receiving end must be made an example of. LDeville Posted September 28, 2011 Author Share Posted September 28, 2011 Hi It's not Esso, BP, Jet, Q8, Shell/etc/etc/etc Free tip = The people we were hoping to send around drive in nice BMW 5 Series estates, usually silver in colour and high visibility blue and red markings and have a decorative thing on the roof and at times make a loud, piercing sound ie like we are coming to get you kind of sound. Hi We won't ask what you drive. however, we will ask you what you is deeming as "absudely expensive"?????
