EU bank transaction tax to be vetoed

"The BBC's business editor Robert Peston said that while dealers and investors in financial products such as derivatives and bonds were not happy about the proposal, share dealers were more relaxed as the tax would cost less then the existing stamp duty, which the tax would replace."

 

So, we would continue to be a centre for share dealing, like the old days before the financialisation of everything with exotic products like derivatives. And we would cease to be a centre for trading in shat like derivatives, the trade in which nearly destroyed our economy.

 

It's a no-brainer surely. Economically destructive trading moves away. More respectable trading continues. Economy forced to restructure.

 

Conservatives are in the bank's back pockets as usual. Let's see what Labour say - I'm not holding my breath.

the bigger picture to this is that due to the anything goes policy britain has become a country that has become obsessed with wealth and greed and it has fuelled migration on a mass scale and a extra large gravy train was created and unfortunatley the gravies dried up and were stuck with the mess

and theres no fairy liquid to clean it up ?
