You must know from recent history that socialism in one nation cannot exist.

The only way forward is international socialism. The entire needs of the world can only be fed by the entire produce of the world. That is a thing you cannot deny.

The system you so admire, is one that is spitting in your face.

You, and others like you, are doing all the work, and others are taking the fruits of your labour, and giving you the fragments left after they have feasted.

Open your eyes and see how foolish you are, allowing yourself to led up the garden path.

Led up the garden path? Hardly. Capitalism (if that's what you need to call a free market democracy) works.

Socialism is an impossible myth, numerous disastrous national failures show that - democratic capitalism is the only long-term successful model of governance in human history.

What makes you think that expanding socialism to global disaster will make it work?

This is partly where that ideal fails, do we reward the road sweeper the same as we would a surgeon ? Can we really define the 'parasitic upper classes', are there any 'upper classes' who are non parasitic ? I reckon their are 'parasitic' people in every class you can define !

In what way is sweeping the roads any less important than operating on a body?

Both need doing, and need doing well.

A man with the intellect to be a surgeon could not sweep roads, he would become depressed and be an encumbramce.

A man whose only ambition is to be a road sweeper can be encouraged to be better. But dont forget, clean roads are vital to an effiecient healthy society.

We need road sweepers, as much as we need surgeons.

Which, in real terms is more important?

If we do away with facile things such as possessions to show status, and replace them with kudos and pride in ones position to show status, then we may begin our next step along the road of evolution.

Oh boy, that's a leftie question if ever I heard one.

Answer? Anybody can sweep a road, no matter have bereft of skills, ability or training. Only a very few people can perform operations, after many years of study and training.

That makes the surgeon and his role of far more value.

Oh dear, I may be wasting my time here, but for what it's worth Balpin, tell me what motivates someone to learn to be a good surgeon as opposed to being a good road sweeper ?

Oh God are you back again. Thought we'd got rid of you.

Have you ever writen a sentence that didn't contain the word leftie?

And what in your opinion does the word mean?

We wait with bated breath for your words of wisdom.

You are not looking at the big picture.

I suggest much reading on these subjects.

Capitalism is Capitalism, no matter what names you like to call it.

Also democracy and capitalism do not mix at all.

That is why we are in this catastrophy that we are in at present.

We are doing all the work and the capitalists are getting all the benefit from it.

There is just as much wealth in the world as there was 10 years, a 100 years or a 1000 years ago, it is just a reflection of mankinds labour.

It all depends on where they stache it.

Dont allow your self to be conned by them.

Ambition, and desire of knowledge.

All humans desire knowledge, are you saying only money motivates people?

You have a poor opinion of your fellow man if that is your idea.

Some may desire to cut into flesh, others may prefer neat ad tidy surroundings.

Who are you to judge your fellow man?

It's you who is judging your fellow man, with your generalisations about class

As for ambition and desire of knowledge, well done, some have more ambition and desire and are therefore rewarded for their endeavours ....simple

Sounds to me like you would be happy enough to see others work hard while you put little effort in yourself for the same rewards !

Not at all, My post was refering to your weird idea that Gordon Brown was a Marxist. I didn't comment on, or even read the Daily Express link. Wrong again.
Either you have memory problems, or honesty problems:

Gordon Brown a Marxist!!!

'Doctor, he's out of bed again...having delusions this time as well.'

'There's only one solution Nurse...we must stop him reading the Daily Mail...
OH NO he reads the Express
! Poor man...you poor poor man.'

What Soviet party leaders have to do with anything is beyond me.
You said greed was caused by the capitalist system, so I thought you might like to explain how it affects people in the middle of a communist state as well.

You said greed is inherent. That means that we all have it...including you.

Ok you don't read the Express. It will be the Daily Mail then.

No, but keep trying :P
