Agent Orange
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15112760 Meanwhile in Britain. Millions of £s are been wasted trying to make some families who live in caravans on a field, move to a different field. Will Britain ever launch a space station? Probably not, much better to invest into a rental property an have housing benefit pay the mortgage. Ah, another thread about rent, not so cleverly disguised. Phanerothyme
What is the purpose of a space station? It's a place where you can board and alight from spaceships. Like a train station, except without trains and pissheads.

littlebasher
Don't forget though, our friends the Chinese buy or steal their designs from Russia or the west. Therefore they save on expensive R&D and design costs. Just look at their new aircraft carrier, a half built Russian hulk bought as a 'floating casino'. Oddly the blackjack tables were replaced with aircraft hangers and missile launchers.
Norbert
It's not that impressive considering they only need to make it half the size of a usual space station.
0742Sheff
If housing wasn't overpriced, and rentierism non existent due to plentiful council housing. Then perhaps we could invest in a space program. What is the benefit of investing in a space program?
Rich
What is the purpose of a space station? If there isn't enough Housing on Earth for all the homeless people, they could move them onto the orbiting Space Station, they could live in some kind of Star Trek style "Deep Space 9" kind of Space Station where their every need and wish is accommodated, might take a couple of hundred years to invent the technology for it though.
