Agbus
I take it you feel the same about the "salvation army" and the "jesus army"? Or are you simply a hypocrite? For example http://jp.learnoutlive.com/the-sohei/
sccsux
For example http://jp.learnoutlive.com/the-sohei/ Which answers nothing in the post you quoted. Care to try again: The words "Warrior Monks" are quite some oxymoron. I take it you feel the same about the "salvation army" and the "jesus army"? Or are you simply a hypocrite? Agbus
You know perfectly well the "salvation army" and the "jesus army" are not military. You don't do yourself any favours by twisting things.
sccsux
You know perfectly well the "salvation army" and the "jesus army" are not military. Neither are "warrior monks". You don't do yourself any favours by twisting things. You do yourself none either by your constant attempts to spread falsehoods about other belief systems that you admit to knowing nothing about. flamingjimmy
Gragbus, you really are talking cobblers. (as usual) His holiness, The Dalai Lama is a good example of peace. Tibet, his land, has been occupied by China for what? Fifty years? Well, 52 to be exact - and despite the injustices meted out to his people, he has shown gentleness. Yeah, because the people of tibet had it sooo much better when he was in charge:rolleyes:. Free tibet and all, but don't give it back to the Dalai Lama so he can turn it back into a corrupt feudal system where he lives in luxury whilst people starve outside his palace walls. RootsBooster
Christianity is about more than just morality but if you took an atheist or secular society that was crime free you would find they were following Christian principles. Or more likely, they'd just happen to share some of the same principles, rather than "following" Christian principles.
abjo441
I don't know that "this deity" exists. What are you confused about? who told you
Plain Talker
Christianity is about more than just morality but if you took an atheist or secular society that was crime free you would find they were following Christian principles. That's total hogwash, Grahame, and you know it. Even if we go back only as far as the 10 commandments, which instruct us not to steal, not to lie, and not to kill, THEY pre-date Christianity by thousands of years. Christianity does not have the monopoly on morals. Most humans have the spark of decency/ morals inside them, whether religious or not.
RootsBooster
who told you Who told me what? EDIT: Since you still seem to be confused, I have no reason to believe that any gods or deities exist.
Vague_Boy
No one has to teach us about our earthly father, he just "is" So why did we sing hymns at assembly at my school, hear religious parables and have compulsory RE (Religious Education) lessons. Presumably faith schools are pointless too? he just "is" I fear for the state of learning in the world if everyone had your driving curiosity.
