Its official, we're a christian country

Recommended Posts

They can of course call themselves Christians but unless they follow Christ and his teachings they are not Christians. That is what the word means CHRISTian.

I could call myself Mick Jagger Doesn't mean I have the ability to front the Stones

well if that were true then there are hardly any true christians because you would have to be a saint to live up to the teachings of christ and there arn't many of those about.

Definition Christian

A person who has received Christian baptism,

I received a Christian baptism, so despite being an atheist I am also a Christian. :D

So who decided that your definition of a Christian is the correct one?

Ok you can believe what you want. I'm not going to get into a point scoring argument about it but I can assure you I am right. :)

The Office of National Statistics reports that 70% of the population thinks they're Christian. That kind of blows out of the water the BBC and their daft ban on BC and AD.

There's also far less gays in the village than some would report as well. Only 1.3% of men reported they were gay. Stonewall have claimed 27%. There's nothing wrong with being gay but we need honesty. They inflate the figures to justify their existence and to ensure the equal opportunities maniac inflict their daft ideologies on us all.

When will the left wake up and stop all the misinformation.

What's next the revelation that the indigenous English are white? :hihi:

Did the office of national statistics mention anything about the Islamification of Britain or is that just bull excrement spouted by the far right to whip up hatred against muslims? :hihi:

Here's the actual report, rather than Mr Littlejohn's interpretation:

http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/dcp171778_227150.pdf

From the report:

Christian 69%

No Religion 23%

Muslim 4%

That's quite a move in 10 years from the 2001 census:

Christian 72%

No Religion 15%

Muslim 3%

Seems that the UK is becoming less and less a Christian nation. Particularly since I know many atheists that still identify themselves as Christian.

It'll be interesting to find out what the 2011 census shows.

So its not enough to tick the box that says one views ones religion as Christian. They now have to supply the registration taken by the Vicar every week to prove they've been to church. You lot don't half make me laugh, I love SF.

There's much more to being a Christian than going to church. I myself am a none believer but respect the Christian way...:D

What's wrong with you people? The Christians are very much under attack, we're constantly told we're not a Christian country. When evidence is provided that shows, without question, a fact, that 70% of the population considers itself Christian, then we quite evidently are a Christian country.

I haven't mentioned other faiths. Respect to them, but we ARE Christian country. Is that such a bad thing to claim? I just want some honesty. I appreciate the left wing don't quite fathom this word. It means telling the truth even if its not what you agree with...:suspect:

Praise the Lord.....

Altogether now...

That can't be right, the muslims are taking over, as any fule kno.

Joking aside, the change from 3.0% to 4.4% in 10 years is quite extraordinary against a background of falling religiosity.

I actually suspect it will be the majority practiced religion in the UK within 2 generations.

Just to point out (To be Frank even)

Jesus was a lover of humanity, and many say, the first socialist.

The Romans were fascists, the very word originating from the bundle of reeds carried by the admin men of their day.

You seem to be arsehole upards as we say in Sheffield.
