medusa Posted October 3, 2011 Share Posted October 3, 2011 A deposit will keep the car for a week, but unless you see guaranteed payment (i.e. cash or a cashier's cheque) then letting your car go just on the deposit alone is IMO just asking to be swindled out of the rest of the money. Even down to the fact that you know you will not be able to reclaim your car because it won't be in the country, it just screams out not to be trusted to me.
