Sparkler61
:owhat reason could that be?? Probably because for the last 40 odd years that's where he's gone in the morning - out of the house. Now she doesn't want him lingering in bed, she's got jobs to do and wants him up and out from under her feet so she can get on.
Cyclone
Probably because for the last 40 odd years that's where he's gone in the morning - out of the house. WasThatWise
Make a list the night before of jobs you want her to do and hand it to her when she's giving you her list, seems fair to me.
Sparkler61
She might be one of those that likes the bed made in the morning, not at dinnertime, people of the older generation have routine and if that's what she's always done, now having Old Tup at home changes that. Perhaps compromise is what is required. Telly at the weekend. Retirement throws 2 people together 24/7 where there's always been space before. I was speaking to our post office manager the other day, it got around to retirement, I said it would be nice to retire and he and his wife could spend time together, he said he thought 'that was the problem', with a laugh. Couples need space, Old Tups enjoying his freedom from working but his wifes lot has been thrown into confusion. OR maybe he inadvertently promised to do all these jobs when he retired lol
LDeville
Hi When people retire, and are married or living with another person that does not go out to work, the two being in eachothers pockets 7 days a wekk can result in massive problems. Possible she wants time for herself. Poss she will strat going out by herself and leave you at home. You need to ask direct questions

Tony
MTFU. Take a shotgun into the woods and say a little prayer. Or, advertise for a toy boy to keep her busy in bed in the morning while you finish off your crossword. You might also wish to invest in ear plugs and new towels.
