Cynic
I'm the same, I only buy a ticket for the massive jackpots. I mean it's hardly worth the effort if you are only going to win £10 million is it!
Jeffrey Shaw
One line is all that you need. The probability increase achieved by more than one is so minimal that I'd stick at just the one. But not buying a ticket at all reduces your chances to 0.00%.
rossyrooney
A man on the manor won the lottery jackpot a couple of years ago. The first thing he did was add another £40 to it and pay off his rent arrears. I'll thank you not to discuss my affairs online young man.. And besides it was only £15,which i borrowed from the provident and now it's back to over £4 million again according to their interest rates. Redyam
I'm playing! Although the probability of winning the jackpot is 0.0000000086 Which is so ridiculously small I don't really know why
Alcoblog
I've just been to the newsagent and asked for a ticket. I paid for it and headed for the door. Newsagent says 'Hey! ... you've forgotten to take your ticket mate!' I smiled and told him to keep it as I never win, before walking off.

Jeffrey Shaw
A better bet is the Premium Bonds- lower max. prize (£1m), but you can always encash your holding.

Either you win or you don't; why does the probability influence you at all?
Redyam
That's so, mathematically, but it's irrelevant. Either you win or you don't; why does the probability influence you at all? Of course it is relevant. If the probability was 0.25, or 1 in 4 there is a much greater chance to win, and much more worth it to play.
