I think that anyone who currently spends benefit money inappropriately would continue to do so.

Of course it's no inappropriate for someone on benefits to have a pint now and again, they might have to skimp on something else, but that's their right.

 

Are you just talking about child benefit now, the OP mentions benefits, the first time child benefit is mentioned is my previous post... What about other things that child benefit can be spent on, clothing, club fee's, transport, home improvements, furniture, presents, etc... There's actually not much that wouldn't be included as an allowable item...

Should the amount of benefits received reduce with each extra child that a 'family unit' (whatever that be) has?

 

So, for example...

1 child = maximum benefits

4 children = no benefits

 

What would be the good things and bad things about such a plan?

 

Two kids as it is now. More than that nothing.
