mj.scuba
That's the funny thing about riff-raff, you need them. I don't need them.
perplexed
Would I live in a gated development? It'd depend on what the alternative was I suppose, and what the area was like.
Stoatwobbler
Are they not all liked minded people wanting the same lifestyle? Proof gated communities are already in place in the UK. I would love to see a gated community in Sheffield, can you imagine all the 10 bob millionaires trying to keep up with each other, courtesy of their flexible friend? Stick all the "10 bob millionaires" in the gated community, and throw away the key to the gate!
upinwath
Gated communities are common in many places. Why would they be a bad thing?
AJ sheffield
The guard wouldn't have a gun in the UK, but (s)he could have a squeezy bottle full of wee as back up. Not even a black widow catapult and a bag of cherry balsams.
Mecky
I think there are a few people on here who have lived in a gated community before .... the locks were on the outside.

alchresearch
There are a few on The Wirral, not just for big houses but small cul de sacs of a dozen or so 3 and 4 bed semis and detached houses. If each house chips in a bit it covers the cost of a minimum wage security guard and keeps the street safe from opportunity burglars.
