MrSmith Posted February 23, 2013 Share Posted February 23, 2013 Just walking up my road when a car driven by a man speaking poor italian stops and tells me he has been to a convention in the middle of town and his boss has given him a bonus gift. He did not want to return to Italy with it so he wanted to Give it away the rest is garbage but i said no and and he drove away Be aware that this happened to me in Bradford and Manchester (must be the look on my face) but what comes after accepting can be costly He was fortunate to find someone that understood Italian; most people probably wouldn’t understand him anyway. Guy drove up in a car and tried to sell me some "Gucci" leather jackets. Said he had to catch a plane back to Italy in a few hours and had to get rid of them. I said a few words of Italian to him and he looked real stupid. So I says "What part of Leeds are you from whacker"? The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago at Corley services outside Coventry on the M6 services. Some Italian bloke in a hire car said I could have some watches he had after coming back from some convention centre. I know a fair bit about watches, and knew they were cheap and crappy. He 'gave' me too and then asked for money because he needed the hire car. Told him I had no money, then he quickly took his crappy timepieces back and drove back quickly. The really fiunny thing though is that just opposite the carpark was a police station! What an idiot! I just want to warn you again, that the watches aren't worth hundreds, they're worth about 5quid. DON'T fall for it! All the best guys. Great to finally see people haven't fallen for it. Also a few months back had a similar event in Nuneaton, a black man in a smart car tried something similar. I just told him straight away I wasn't interested that time. But with the italian man I had nothing better to do so I though I'd waste his time!
