Livni to visit UK without fear of arrest

Recommended Posts

What a pathetic excuse you make for an Israeli war criminal. Don't you have at least an ounce of shame for what you said ?

Tzipi is the leading advocate of a two state solution, leader of the most popular party in Israel (not in government thanks to proportional representation - great idea that is!) and a key person the British government needs to engage with (as she shares our view of the best way forward). And you randomly brand her a war criminal and seek to prevent her travelling to the UK?

Do you actually give the slightest toss about peace in the middle east or is it much more fun for you to add the word terrorist every time you mention israel or israelis?

It wasn't random; enough evidence was provided to a High Court judge to persuade him that a warrant be issued for her arrest.

She wasn't prevented from travelling to the UK. She chose not to do so because she preferred not to be arrested.

The law has now been changed so that, regardless of how much evidence there might be, no warrant can be issued because she's "on our side." A Palestinian accused of the same crimes, given the same level of evidence, would still be arrested and tried if he or she were to set foot in England; why should Tzipi not be?

That sounds like quite some law given that those who are "on our side" can and do change frequently. Could you link to the text of the legislation that you refer or are you just making stuff up?

I haven't seen the text. I know that the Government announced, on the day that warrant was issued, that they intended to change the law so that such warrants could not be issued against our allies; it appears they have now done so.

Presumably it will work along the lines of no such warrant can be issued without the government's approval, whoever the government might be at the time.

Completely wrong. Might have been a good idea to actually look at the law before spouting off about it?
