Afghanistan. Ten Years of War today.

Recommended Posts

Speaking from someone who has a relative in the army alot of the posts on here are just utter rubbish.

The afghan war isn't won nor do i doubt it will be shortly but pulling out now isnt a realistic solution we walk away the taliban starts terrorism again and were back to square one.

Sadly we have had alot of lives lost and alot of serious injuries but these guys are fighting for something they believe in and i doubt it honours the poor fighters who have been killed or seriously injured by walking away.

This particular war can be read in a million different ways people need to understand this war is for a reason and walking away right now simply isnt an option.

This a war that cannot end, ever.

It is a war of ideologies, and one that cannot be ended by bullets.

It can only be soved by dialogue, I will never be a Muslim, and I doubt, a Muslim will ever be a Socialist.

We must speak on an international basis to repair human relations.

Hundreds of British dead. Thousands seriously wounded. Costing this country billions of pounds every year. Money we cannot simply afford. The Americans now saying the job is only half done. Thousands of poor local Afghans killed or seriously wounded. I don't see too many sons of MPs or bankers giving their lives on the frontline on a weekly basis. Just working class lads. Withdraw our forces NOW we ain't EVER gonna win this war ! SUPPORT THE MASS ASSEMBLY IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE AT MID DAY IN LONDON TOMORROW !

The war is won, all we are doing now is winning the peace.

Soldiers volunteer to join the army and obey orders. Some of them have been involved in abuses of citizens. If they'd wanted a quiet life they should have known joining the army wouldn't have provided it. The real idiots though are Blair and Bush, not just for thinking they could pacify Afghanistan but for invading Iraq as well and fighting two unwinnable wars at once. The Taliban will be back in government soon in a coalition of some sort. I just hope western countries learn the lesson that invasions don't solve problems. The Yanks failed to learn from Vietnam and NATO failed to learn from the Russians' invasion of Afghanistan.

What about the Balkans?

Is afganistan a better place now or ten years one day ago?

Talking will not solve anything. The time for talking is past.
