LeMaquis
The article says; "While large parts of the town have fallen to government forces, the resistance being put up by Gaddafi loyalists inside Sirte is extraordinary." That's not the same as saying the attack is failing, just that it's not overcome the Gaddafi loyalists yet. The new regime can bring new resources into the battle whereas the old one can't, being isolated and cut off. Give it time.

foxy lady
But the good news is this conflict hasn't so far cost the lives of any British servicemen, unlike the futile wars we fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.
LDeville
Hi We have always said, this was a war for oil, and many millions did, still do support the fool Daffy. Remember, when a Brit gov comes in to power, often with about 33% of the vote. Under the cover of the importent UN, our troops and the americans along with the french went in to "protect civiliians." One needs to be a fool to beleive that. FACT Our gov was licking Daffys rear up until a couple of weeks before attacking the gov of Libya.
