Simon T
Hi all After reading about Jarvis Cocker returning his school library book 30 years late this week, I just wondered; What have you got in your house that you borrowed years ago and never gave back? Snoopy towel - my mum (about 5 years) next door neighbours garden fork (2 yrs)

LDeville
Hi Nothing whatsoever, fact. We passionately hate it when people borrow, don't give back quickly or return in a mess,.
medusa
A laptop bag. I was dumped while I was borrowing it and completely forgot to return it when I went round to his place to let myself in and do all the item repatriation (including keys) and when I remembered I no longer had a key, I'd deleted his contact details and he never asked for it back, so it sort of stayed. LeMaquis
I lent a former mate my first day copy of the Sex Pistols' Never Mind The Etc LP in 1979 and never got it back. My former mate is now headteacher of a private Catholic school in Sheffield. I could try blackmail.
curriechick
Some ramakin dishes from my daughter, she sent me home from her place at some time with something in them and I find them so useful for all sorts of jobs that they have never found their way home. MonkeyLover
I don't think I have anything that I have borrowed and not given back - but someone I know borrowed my pinking shears (good ones, cost a fortune), a picnic table, and a book (quite valuable and irreplaceable) - I have not received any of them back - and that was quite a few years ago. curriechick
I have stopped loaning out good books, I will happily give away most books that I have read but I won't loan my favourites anymore as too many have gone missing and I have had to replace them sometimes at a high cost. curriechick
Yes maybe you should, I don't want to sound precious but books can be special to some people, I know I have certain books I don't want to part with, but others that I will happily give away.
