Ballroom dancing classes

The Help Yourself website has a listing of dance schools and groups you'll probably find useful.

I think you'll find that most ballroom dance schools require you to come with a regular partner and stick with them throughout the lessons. A man might be able to get away with asking if they can find him a partner as there are usually more women who want to dance than men, but someone with the username of Laura16 probably isn't a man!

A good way into partner dance without a regular partner is modern jive, where people rotate around both in the classes and during the freestyle sessions. You may also be able to find someone else there who's interested in learning more formal ballroom styles and willing to be your partner.

I recommend Blitz at Crookes Social Club on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. You could also go to Ceroc at the Davy Club on Tuesdays - they both have the same dance style and the classes are run in just the same way, but Blitz has the advantage of running bigger classes locally and therefore you have more choice of dancers.
