adelrose
Do you ask guests to remove footwear as they enter your home? If so , how do you go about this? Ask them Politely? A notice on the wall or door? What do you do if this is request is ignored? This weather, i seem to be forever cleaning muddy foot prints from my home light coloured carpets and wondered if you think its wrong to make such a request? Mister M
No I've got floor tiles in the hallway & front room (not got rounf to carpeting yet) so it's no problem fo me to get the mop out. But if I did have a carpet I would politely ask them to remove their shoes. If this request was ignored, just point at the muddy footprints & say " just look at what some dirty get has done". mj.scuba
When I was selling a house once an Egyption looking chap came to view it and he took his shoes off outside the front door and left his shoes outside. I said it was ok to leave them on or at least place them inside, but he insisted. Must be a cultural thing, very polite of him if nothing else. Good job it wasn't raining. ChrisT70
yes we do, its not a problem just asking people, especially when you have new carpets throughout, start as you mean to go on!
Alien52
I also run a geiger counter over them and insist that they put on a surgical mask.
barleycorn
Just ask, if they refuse kick 'em out. Personally I remove my shoes when visiting other peoples houses anyway, and my friends do the same when visiting me. jb
hennypenny
With the state of my carpets I ask them to put thigh high waders on to protect themselves!
Harleyman
Yes always. We dont have much tiling in the house as neither of us like tiles except in the kitchen and bathrooms and the carpeting is expensive and needs to be kept stain free
lesterman
Guests in my house are required to don a full diving suit complete with headgear and bedroom slippers. They never object and seem to like it.
medusa
Visitors can't possibly be any muddier than the dog, so no, I think it would be pretty pointless to ask them to take their shoes off.
