gadget_man Posted November 21, 2011 Share Posted November 21, 2011 Did anyone remember my dad i remember Tommy in the 60s we used to go in the steel inn,Tommy was a great kid and we worked on the coal lorries,i worked at the NCB with my brother and i think Tommy worked for burnett & hallamshire ,then i think he went to work as a navvy for the Gas board. i was sad to see his plaque in the hall of remembrence it was quite a shock,i also have a plaque there for my late wife and thats when i saw Tommys.RIP. re,walt that you mention if he was the one who used to work down the pit at orgreave and got injured ,my father was one of the rescue party that got him out and walt allways used to say how greatfull he was to my father and occasionally he used to call to our house to see him on the manor-walt allso was a great kid.
