LDeville
Police are considering investigating Adam Werritty, the close friend and self-styled adviser to former Defence Secretary Liam Fox, for possible fraud. Liam Fox affair: Adam Werritty facing fraud investigation by police Liam Fox resigned over links to close friend and 'adviser' Adam Werritty Photo: PA By Jason Lewis, Robert Mendick and Patrick Hennessy 10:30AM BST 16 Oct 2011 Labour MP John Mann has asked City of London Police to look into allegations that Mr Werritty used government business cards falsely claiming he was an adviser to Dr Fox. A City of London Police spokesman confirmed it had received an allegation of fraud: "Officers from the force's economic crime directorate will consider the matter and establish whether or not it is appropriate to launch an investigation." Mr Mann told The Sunday Telegraph: “Mr Werritty gave out business cards saying he was an adviser to Dr Fox. “If that is not the case and he was getting money — for whatever purpose — by misrepresenting his relationship with the defence secretary, that cannot be right.” Mr Mann also said he would call for police and the Electoral Commission to look at whether Dr Fox could face potential criminal proceedings over a failure to declare political donations. from telegraph.co.uk

chem1st
http://stage.sundaysport.com/?p=1296 WHEN short-sighted pensioner Alf Spence tottered down to his local postbox to send a card, he hoped he hadn’t missed the last collection. But as he popped the envelope through the little slot a concerned passerby looked at him with a stunned expression. The Good Samaritan tapped befuddled Alf, 91, on the shoulder and explained to him that he wasn’t stood in front of a postbox but had in fact posted his great-grandson’s birthday card into a council DOG POO waste bin!
