Kit Holmes has one of those unique voices which, like those of Bob Dylan and Neil Young, some people will immediately dismiss. However, for listeners who enjoy vocals centred on emotion and feeling, rather than the vocal gymnastics favoured by the countless divas that clutter up the UK charts, Holmes’ debut album is a real treat.

Catch Kit's last gig of the year at The Greystones on Sunday 27th November.

Here's a nice review of Kit's debut album by Acoustic Magazine from a few years ago...

"Seeing You opens with the gentle instrumental ‘Long Days Short Nights’, and it’s soon apparent that Holmes is an incredibly accomplished guitarist. Songs such as ‘The More Time You Have’ are played so softly yet enthusiastically that you can virtually sink into the notes. ‘Cheap Flights’ has a lounge-singer feel to it, but manages to stay on the right side of cheesy, while ‘Game Of Love’ and ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Good’ highlight just how beautiful Holmes’ voice can be. Refreshingly avoiding any pretence of an American accent, she purrs through the verses, allowing her larynx off the leash slightly when she reaches the chorus.

Backed by the talents of legendary double bass man Danny Thompson, Seeing You is an album that touches every emotion, impresses musically, and yet all the while sounds as British as fish and chips. It’s an excellent debut from an artist who will undoubtedly be stirring up some serious waves in the very near future. Remember the name."
