love_rat
Saw last nights Panorama about the cost of fuel and the illegal stuff that is ever more being sold in the UK. Certain types of businesses, in particular the haulage industry, some businesses are using the illegal stuff, just so they can stay in business. They say they are facin unfair competition from continental lorrys that fill up in France and then drive around the UK far more cheaply than a UK based firm can. It seems some people are facing the choice....do the right thing, but face bankruptcy or take a chance and in order to stay afloat. I do feel that this is a dilema that will face many more people over the coming years. IN fact I believe that the only people who will not have to face this problem will be the people whos job it is, to enforce the rules. What would you do if you had the choice? If it meant certain bankruptcy, would you do the right thing, or would you take a chance?
alchresearch
They say they are facin unfair competition from continental lorrys that fill up in France and then drive around the UK far more cheaply than a UK based firm can. They've been saying this ever since the 2001 fuel protests. UK hauliers couldn't compete against Willi Betz.
