Overtaking a Hearse

Recommended Posts

I agree, the limit is the limit, not the target

What are we coming to when we cant allow our fellow man some respect?

The cavalcade only usually slow down for the last few hundred yards.

If we cant give that respect what are we?

I have overtaken funeral precessions travailing at 15mph with 5 miles of their journey to the crematorium left.

Absolutely. It seems there is a loss of respect in society as a whole. I despair of people sometimes.

That is your right to do so.

I trust you are proud of yourself.

Why would I be proud of myself, it’s a slow moving vehicle on a road and if it is safe to overtake you should overtake, like you would any other slow moving vehicle.

Yes, be my guest.

If that is what want to do, go for it.

It is just not the thing a normal thinking person would do.

There, you have been told off, are you happy now?

It’s a requirement to make reasonable progress when driving and if an opportunity presents its self to overtake a slow moving vehicle safely you should. There is no disrespect to anyone.

I think the grieving family of the deceased that you overtake might not agree with you that there's no disrespect to anyone.
