Balpin
Silly me! Why didnt I realize that since I spent a year in that war myself. Do go on with your enlightening remarks though If you were not beaten why are you not running Vietnam then? I seem to remember you all running away up to a helicopter in what then your HQ
Balpin
Rubbish ! They were fighting to unite the north with the south and get rid of foreigners. They had had a gut full of the French for the better part of a century and they didnt want the Americans there either. Dont ridicule yourself any further by spouting on about "Interntional Socialism" Ho Chi Minh was essentially a Vietnamese nationalist. He had no liking for the Chinese either except for the weaponry they supplied I dont think you know anything about it mate, not whatsoever. Leave the politics to politicians, End of. Longcol
Thats exactly what I mean, they were fighting for international socialism. The Viet Cong weren't internationalists, neither are the Chinese - both Viet Cong and Chinese "socialism" are essentially nationalist movements. Now Trotsky was into international socialism........... BTW you still haven't explained how Gaddafi and Assad were / are "pro - USA".
Adrians Lad
If you were not beaten why are you not running Vietnam then? Because "Rambo`s" mission was to free the American POW`s and get them out of the country ............... not to run the country. Dont you know the history of the Vietnam war. I seem to remember you all running away up to a helicopter in what then your HQ Who wants to run Vietnam? The Vietnamese are quite capable of running it themselves. It will be noted that they soon started to dump the communist system after the country was unified. US money has helped them develop economically since then and a couple of my golf shirts were stitched together in Vietnam. I recently purchased four new dining table chairs also made in Vietnam and the quality and finish are very good indeed. Who knows? The Gook who once pointed his AK47 in the direction of my ass might have been the one who assembled the chairs. It's a strange world we live in Alice
