Mortgage Broker sought/recommended MEGATHREAD

Recommended Posts

  • 2 months later...

I've had a couple of meetings with Mortgage advisors and found that if I were to go with these brokers that I'd be paying either £299 or £399 in broker fees. So I just wondered if anyone knew of any fee-free Mortgage brokers in or around the Sheffield area?

Thanks for any help, it's much appreciated. :)

I wouldn't advise going to a fee-free broker. If you're not paying him, it means the mortgage company is paying him to sell their mortgage instead of someone else's ... so he will not be impartial.

Mortgage advisors that charge a fee still get paid by the lender and to be honest most of the lenders pay near enough exactly the same amount of commission as each other.

To the OP are you buying or re-mortgaging?

I can give you the name of our financial adviser. They come to your home and show you all deals on laptop, you are then free to choose whichever one you want and they go over everything with you and sort out all paperwork, they are really good company, based in Dronfield.

You don't pay them a penny!!

Let me know if you are interested and I will give you his number.

So I take it you didn't pay any broker fees and they took commission from the lender?

Yeah, I'd appreciate their number, thanks :)

Thanks for replying.

Most lenders pay procuration fees to the broker and some brokers charge fees in addition to this I do not charge any fees.
