not joking at all idiots like this are not really funny:mad: armchair protesters most and the ones that are there are either full time protesters or trendies who think its a bit of a wheeze:loopy: like another poster said most of the tents are empty at night and the so called hardliners go back to a comfy bed:hihi::hihi: the sooner the Met get in there and clear the mess with some strongly disinfected jetted water the better:o

So who is it you are angry about again?

The ones that are staying there or the ones that you claim are going home?

I don't see why it matters anyway - do their opinions only count if they stay there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

What are these people trying to achieve?

Do they have jobs to go too?

Why aren't they staying there over night?

Why don't the police move the tents when they all go home for tea? They've left the tents, it's classed as littering.

On the phone in I was listening to, some of those protesting have jobs. Some have been staying overnight.

If, indeed, the protesters are at home at night, surely the police or church officials can remove the abandoned tents.

Furthermore, what with Remembrance Sunday fast approaching, I hope these people are going to see sense and remove themselves. Surely they cannot be that stupid, to risk the wrath of those who want to remember the war dead, by keeping the cathedral closed.

They're not responsible for what the Bishop of London chooses to do. He can open the Church, or the service can be moved to other Cathedrals. The only way that the protesters could be responsible is if their actions directly called for the cathedral to be shut.

At the minute they are behaving themselves, they aren't even there according to the newspapers, so why does the cathedral have to be shut?

I doubt it, but you never can tell. :)

My only position here is to defend the right to protest aslong as they aren't breaking any laws. They've not done anything wrong yet.

By being there, they are. It's their actions that has caused the cathedral to close it's doors. The bishop wouldn't have closed the cathedral now, if it wasn't for the protesters, would he?!

Why should services be moved to alternative churches?! I suspect what little public support they currently have will soon vanish if remembrance services have to be cancelled or moved.

There was 2 American women on the news who had come over on holiday and although they were dissapointed the church was shut they couldnt see why it was as the protesters where causing no obstruction what so ever.

You really think the church would happily lose £20,000+ a day if they really didn't have to close the cathedral?! So, what if the church opens the doors to the cathedral, then what? What's to stop the protesters from entering the cathedral and holding up there?
