No, you're incorrect. There's an earlier post which links to scientists and technical experts showing that the cameras and settings used to take the pictures were wrongly set up up and pointing out that the materials that tents are made from don't allow the heat signature through - i.e. would not allow people inside to show up on the outside.

Do you speak as an expert on thermal imaging technology or do you think the above is true simply because it fits with your own blinkered worldview?

That sounds like utter bull. I've used heat image equipment in the past and can assure you that tent material would do no such thing.

Perhaps this picture will help - see how the guys leg is completely invible behing the tent?

Now imagine what happens if he gets into it.

And while you're at in perhaps you can explain why the protester's message suddenly becomes meaningless if some of them go home overnight?

Here are some experts who disagree with you - http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/oct/26/occupy-london-tents-rubbish-science

A miltary scientist who specialises in camouflaging soldiers against thermal imaging said - '' "They cannot make the assumption that they have made from those images. The way they are set up, you wouldn't be able to tell if there's anyone in the tent or not, especially if someone is sleeping in an insulated sleeping bag."

It's in the Guardian - it must be true, right? :roll:

A quote from your article;

"But the military scientist, who asked not to be named, said on Wednesday that the photographers were not using the right camera settings, and consequently the information needed to draw any conclusions from the images had been lost."

Could the reason why the military scientist asked not to be named be that he doesn't exist?

The protesters also tell me that the picture was taken at 11.15pm, and they laugh at the thought that any of them were even in their tents and bed then.

But, as i realise too often on this board, these facts you will ignore, but you will take on board our gutter press.

Scarcely. The protestors are indeed from all sections of society and not, as rickiethecat claims 'spoilt rich kids'.

Tree Huggers ?........... Violent Anarchists ?............. Handwringers ?.........

The ones ive seen on the news look like the same old "Rent a mob" to me. Any old worthless cause and the chance of a ruck with the old bill . Im sure old Swampy and his mates will get their wish before long ,as there will come a point very soon where they will be evicted from there ,kicking and screaming if needs be by the riot police,as they are making the place look untidy ,and not the image we want to portray to visitors to the city of London.

The Authoritys try and keep our streets clean of garbage ,and im sure these people will be swept up off the streets and removed with all the rest of the litter that makes the place look a mess.

If they're away from their tent then the tent is litter as far as I'm concerned and should be cleared away.
