My poor understanding is that capitalism is to do with private ownership and corporates, I dont quite see where benefits comes into it as the government are neither privately owned or corporate, their voted in to power but, someone here will no a lot more than I do.

With regard to taxes if that's what you mean by 'paying in', these are paid in all societies aren't they, socialist and communist included?

there there you will understand eventually:P shall i spell it out,slowly? now the nasty capitalist makes a profit and on that profit he or she has to pay a lot of taxes, he or she also employs many peasants to make that profit, the ones that want to work get paid the going rate for the job the ones that dont want to work or cant be bothered or are protesters get some help from the state that collected the taxes,now without corporate enterprise the welfare pot would be very much smaller or non existant! now that is so simple even a left wing or liberal handwringer could understand it:heyhey::heyhey:

Nah, that doesn't sound right to me but it's been fun reading your thoughts.

I get the bit about the capitalist making a profit (that's capitalism) then it all goes awry. Thanks for trying though.

As I said before, I'm not against organisations making profit, it's the levels of profit that are obscene. It's obscene that people have struggled to keep warm for a good few years, in fact people have died because they can't afford to heat their property, and all the time power generators/suppliers have been posting record profits year upon year.

@ab6262

I am concerned that you think people that aren't working either don't want to or are protesting about something and you haven't considered that they have been made redundant or, are looking but so far found nothing, an oversight i'm sure ;)
