Bonjon
This is based on our fuel consumption in the past, this is the price per unit that we're negotiating. Ahh, I didn't know you could negotiate the PPU.
Suffragette1
Ahh, I didn't know you could negotiate the PPU. Basically, they're all competing with one another and trying to poach customers, so we were offered a slight reduction than we have at present with our current supplier. Nagel
You do it for me, please, I can't be arsed! Am at work plus I don't have all the details to hand. No! I'm not at work and it's the sort of thing I would only do if I was at work and sufficiently bored

The entire thing is bonkers. Electricity/gas is produced centrally; it's only the competing retailers' costs/margins that lead to differential pricing. Just think how much manpower is being wasted in the pointless exercise..

Jeffrey Shaw
It's produced by private companies who will have different costs/unit... ...yes re retailing, as I just posted. Production, however, is centralised; few if any of the retailers produce too.

Jeffrey Shaw
who is the central producer? Mostly international conglomerates- British Gas, BP, American/Russian extraction/mining firms, French nuclear power, etc.
truman
Mostly international conglomerates- British Gas, BP, American/Russian extraction/mining firms, French nuclear power, etc. So there isn't one central producer..? So all those companies will have differnt costs of production per unit...
