Kalcrest Sheffield Steeldogs are still riding high in the Premier Cup and League table, sitting one point behind joint leaders – Milton Keynes and Slough Jets. Steeldogs will hope home ice aids their double challenge against title contenders, Guildford Flames, at iceSheffield on both Saturday (7.30pm) and Sunday (5.30pm).

Guildford Flames, last season's Play-off Champions, currently lie in 6th place but have two games in hand. The Flames consistently sign some top players and are a very good offensively-minded team, with 6 players in double figure points, so it will be an interesting but tough match-up for the more defensively-minded Sheffield hosts.

Both teams were stung by a loss last Saturday but re-grouped well for their respective Sunday games with two convincing wins. Guildford also raced to 3-0 lead in the first two minutes of their mid-week home game against Manchester, with 5-3 being the end score..

Andre knows this will be a tough weekend but was very pleased with the way the team bounced back in Peterborough on Sunday. He has been busy talking with Newcastle Supporters Club, inviting them down for the weekend in Sheffield to watch several of their ex-players who are now with the Flames plus Andre for Steeldogs.

Andre said "It will be a great chance for me to see a lot of my old fans from Newcastle days, as well as being fun to play against so many of my old team-mates. I think it will be a great atmosphere this weekend, along with some good hockey."

Please come and support the Steeldogs this weekend at iceSheffield, for what should be an entertaining and battling weekend in a bid to quench the Flames!
