Go on the two rollercoaster rides on top of the Stratosphere (except if it's windy - they'll be shut) and also have a drink in the lounge up there and take a good look at Vegas. Its an amazing place for a good veiw.

The roller coaster at New York-New York is pretty sweet too.

Don't forget 'Speed' at the Sahara - it's like being shot out of a gun - zero to god knows how fast in a nanosecond !!!

If you are into cars there are many cars on display in the Imperial Palace hotel - many are for sale but with prices of up to millions of dollars many are beyond reach...

There are many museums if you are into art - the Bellagio had Andy Warhol when I was there and the Steve Wynn Collection has to be seen to be believed

The slots of fun casino is the best value and is where I managed to make the most dosh on slots - I went this year and was sly with my winning methods - when i went 5 years ago I got spotted counting machines and winning money from them and the security bloke had a word with me

As for buffet breakfasts, couldnt agree more - munch as much u can. I stayed in the Mandalay Bay last time and their Sunday Champagne Brunch was out of this world ! Bellagio is supposed to be better

Oh, dont forget to go up the Eiffel tower and listen to the music and watch the fountains of Bellagio. You can get great photos up there

One thing I never did was go to the Ethel M chocolate factory - gotta do that next time. Ethel M was the mother of the guys who founded m+m's - there is an m+m's world near the MGM.

Freemont street is great - was worth the walk there as went to Golden Nugget [worlds biggest nugget still on display] and went past A Little white wedding chapel - as a caseworker deciding marriage applications for the Immigration and Nationality Directorate I often wondered where it was and now I know :P

Get a taxi to the Hilton - dont walk, everything's further than you think in the desert - and go on the Star Trek Experience (I hate Star Trek but the ride is pretty entertaining, trust me).

They've raised the admission to $30 though, so only worth doing if you are a Star Trek fan (or have discount coupons!).

The Bellagio Museum of Fine Art has since shut down. It still has the Picasso restaurant where you can dine with Picasso's on the wall though (similarly the Mirage has Renoir).

Good shows to see in Vegas are the Cirque du Soleil shows (O in Bellagio and Mystere in Treasure Island), although they charge a lot ($120 for O). They are almost worth it though.

For shopping, the Fashion Show Mall is pretty good. It has similar stores to the Forum Shoppes, but without the fancy theming and slightly lower prices.

I'm not a Star Trek fan, but it is worth going on - just to be 'beamed'!

Ask at your hotel and they'll be able to give you pointers to any discount coupons.

It will probably be quite expensive to get a taxi, so might be worth looking at a coach from the airport.

What to see? Go up the Stratosphere - go just before dusk so you can stay up there and see the city in daylight and after dark from above.

If you can, hire a car and go for a day out, see the hoover dam (it's the biggest thing ever - the wind hits it with such a force, and is pushed upwards, we tipped some water over the edge, and it actually went upwards!) and if you want a longer trip (maybe overnight), the grand canyon. If you can afford it, a helicopter over the grand canyon is the only way to see it!

We also drove out to Area 51 (which is about an hour away) at night, which was fun, although kind of scary (headlights coming towards you down a deserted road...)

You don't have to spend a lot of money - there are many things you can do for free - many of the hotels are like theme parks, you can just wander around.

They only machine I won on was the machine you get at the seaside, where you drop a penny (it was quarters there) onto a shelf with a mechanical arm going back and forth, and you have to push them off the edge. I won loads!! (lost it all again!).

Going on the roullette, other tables, as mentioned is good, because you get free drinks! It is easy to get carried away though...

'All you can eat' buffets are not as good value as they look, since americans eat much more than us! Though you have to try one of the buffet breakfasts - including not only breakfast things, but steak, cakes, etc - all 3 meals in one!

If you look under 30, carry ID, since they are strict not only for drinkinkg, but being on the casino floor too.

Dream Holiday on BBC1 tonite sent some lucky woman off to the states including Vegas. Was watching it and who was flying the chopper over the grand canyon ? It was the pilot dude that did my flight !!! Everyone on our flight gave him HUGE tips as he gave best in-flight commentary, views etc. He's even fab with a camera and took great shots of me and the now ex-girlfriend in front of the HeliUSA chopper.

God I need to go to Vegas again ! Hasta la vista Vegas !

You could go see Celine Deon?

I did the Grand Canyon Trip also. AWESOME.

You absolutely have to do that, and gamble some too!

Do the nickel slots. You will be entertained for hours and only spend a few bucks.
