"Daddy bought me this, Daddy bought me that"

Should class even exist in a democratic society?
We can put labels on people and describe them of one class or another, but 'class' is just a form of natural selection on a social scale.

Some poeple are more successful than others, that's life.

Far from boasting, Cameron does his best to cover up the fact that he is an Eton educated millionaire from a family of millionaires and married to an Earls daughter. Along with most of his colleagues and friends and associates.

Which is a good thing. The ideal Prime Minister should be one who has received the best education possible and has connections with big businesses so he can have some influence on how they affect the economy.

You wouldn't employ an uneducated, unqualified candidate in any other area of life, so why would we want a thick working class chav as prime minister instead?

Class is determined largely by who you are born to. There is a possibility of moving up into middle class but nobody ever breaks through into ruling class circles. One cannot achieve landed gentry status by effort and hard work it is where you are born.

What do you mean by 'ruling' class? I thought we'd had a parliament ruling in the UK fdor, what, say a few hundred years?

You still didn't tell us who you would prefer?

The big problem here is that there is nobody worth voting for. We need new blood to upset the cosy apple cart.

We should not have a government that was not voted in governing us though. It is NOT democratic to be ruled by people were contrived and not voted for.
