Grandad.Malky
So you watch programmes on TV, put your central heating on and shop at a massive supermarket where you can get anything under one roof and yet you think we're going back to the dark ages. This forum is becoming more bonkers each day. My thoughts exactly …….. as a kid we had no heating to turn on but yet people just got on with it ……….. put another jumper on. Bassman62
Why not starve the oppressors and not give in to their services. As for the the rest of us, just spend what you can afford or need. As for going back to the dark ages, could that be the only way to save the planet and end the consumerism glut?Well islam is still in the dark ages yet at this monent in time most of the unrest in the world is in countries wher islam predominates especialy the Arab world. Bassman62
That's the important point to the whole debate. Tesco don't shut down the independant shops, we do !!! Shops close when people stop shopping in them, Tesco is not immune. Tesco and other supermarket chains have a buying power that the little shops don't have. They purchase their stock at a far lower price than the corner shop. Would you pay more for the same goods just to support your local shop? I know very few people who woul'd.
