Justin Smith
Job adverts now state that they won't bother to contact you if you're not successful, which is just plain lazy. I`d say it`s more then lazy, it`s ignorant. And lazy, obviously.
Frank Sidney
They can and do. Not in the public sector, they don't even read spec ones they go straight in the bin....
Justin Smith
Not in the public sector, they don't even read spec ones they go straight in the bin.... We keep some job applications, but only the best ones, and we generally send a slightly different job rejection letter stating that we`ve kept it on file. If the applicant was to complain saying about this we`d then bin it, but I can`t see that ever happening myself........
Murphy Jnr
I'd rather not get a letter, that way there's no disappointment when you read it.
ampersand
There's a cost implication to everything you do in business - if you invite people to apply for a job by advertising it, it is only common courtesy to reply to those that applied we reply to all applications (including unsolicited ones) - usually by e mail or phone call if the details are given as it is quicker and cheaper
lee79
The last rejection letter I got I had to pay for myself. The idiots who sent it out forgot to put a stamp on the envolope so I had to go to the sorting office and pay to get the letter.

alchresearch
Job adverts now state that they won't bother to contact you if you're not successful, which is just plain lazy. And worrying if they contact you to offer an interview and Royal Mail have lost the letter.
