Prince Charles has veto over legislation!!

Recommended Posts

They being the ones that made this country what it is. The vast majority of us are subjects. If you want to live a life without being a subject, you will need to go and buy your own island. Good luck on that one.

I think you will find that the people who made this country are the working people and the capitalists.

Where do the royal family come into it?

Since the Revolution and Restoration they are mere figureheads, and can be disposed as and when the people see fit.

If you don't like a country ruled by a monarch, i suggest you pack a case and get the hell out.

Or protest about it as we have every right to do.

The country is a monarchy in name only, we should keep them as tourist attractions but they should be removed from all aspects of governance.

The person who runs this country is the Prime Minister.

The Queen takes advice from him, and gives him advice if she feels he needs it.

This runs very well at present.

If that fool Charles is ever king (god forbid) this will be upset.

If he ever refuses assent on a bill the PM gives him what will be the result?

The PM will go back to the House, and tell them.

There will be a debate on the Monarchy, and the Monarchy will be dissolved.

Result, a Republic.

Well said.

Although even as a tourist attraction I doubt their worth. The royal wedding last year was cited by the ONS as a reason for poor economic growth....

Long live the monarchy

As a Labour hack aren't you a bit embarrassed that an unelected heir is vetoing Labour policy? What's the point in voting Labour if they have to run everything past Charles? And who are his advisers? He talks to plants a lot so perhaps they guide him.

The Royal Family should be abolished pronto. They're only in their privileged positions because of wars, murders, inter-breeding, etc, that go back to when most of the country was covered in forests. They play no useful role apart from for themselves. If they join the armed forces they're not allowed anywhere near the danger zone. Big use they are. Abolish.

They are still very dangerous though.

They work in a strata above that of the rest of us.

They have the morals off a tomcat, and do not hesitate to murder and destroy ones who oppose them.

It will take a braver PM than any I can see in the offing to depose them, espescially with all the cap doffing from the people, as displayed by some on here.

I spot a small flaw in your argument.. :)
