Most landlords would have a Buy to Let mortgage, so are you suggesting the only rental property available should be from the state, and the state the only landlord?

 

If the state represents the collective population of the entire nation, then it (the state) should allow for every man woman and child to have an affordable roof above his/her/their head.

 

Private landlords could still operate, but they would not have the inherent advantages available that they have now.
