Rupert_Baehr
If 'tramps' wish to 'groom themselves' (clean up and smarten themselves up) in public toilets which have washbasins, what's wrong with that? Surely it's discriminatory to stop them? After all, the operators of the toilets (presumably) left the doors on the WC cubicles. It would be blatant discrimination were they to remove those doors to dissuade other 'users' from using the toilets to groom others.
gnvqsos
At least they are trying to salvage their self-respect;there should be access for all to at least wash and use the toilet. The same critics would condemn them if they did nt wash etc.
Janus
Are the student forums that dead! Jesus! Explain? He tals in txt speak, I don't fet it and again? If 'tramps' wish to 'groom themselves' (clean up and smarten themselves up) in public toilets which have washbasins, what's wrong with that? Nothing. Just as there is nothing wrong with a city gent doing exactly the same. The bit that went over your head was the mess that was apparently being created, as exlained in the OP

Are you seriously suggesting that beggars take their hat full of copper coins every day to the inland revenue and declare their earnings?
altus
Indirect tax? What are you on about? You've demonstrated you don't know what indirect tax is here. Are you seriously suggesting that beggars take their hat full of copper coins every day to the inland revenue and declare their earnings? There's no need to prove it again here. Andy
Indirect tax is VAT, tobacco and alcohol duty etc, which I'm sure some homeless people do pay.
TheGuy
Indirect tax is VAT, tobacco and alcohol duty etc, which I'm sure some homeless people do pay. The obvious response to that would be where do the homeless get the money to buy tobacco and alchohol.

Tramps are often people who have lost everything and have nowhere to turn but the street. Calling them parasites is a bit pathetic isn't it?!
