Backward-thinking space music....

 

Third time out for our pre-club electronic bar session and as well as the usual cosmic, house, Detroit and electro (as in Hague/80s style, not the 2006 kind), there'll be a heavy focus on the back catalogue of Clone Records throughout the night – we stole our name from label boss Serge's excellent compilation, and since opening shop in '93 they've released/reissued a staggering amount of high-grade dancefloor tackle, from the likes of: Dexter, Alden Tyrell, i-F, Duplex, Space Dimension Controller, Legowelt, Mike Dehnert. Fred Ventura, Drexciya, Der Zyklus, Dopplereffekt, Mike Dunn, Fingers Inc, Unit Moebius, Tyree, Jovonn & DJ Deep and Genius of Time.

 

Expect anything from '93-'11, including tracks from the more recent offshoot labels Clone West Coast, Clone Club, Clone Basement, Clone Jack for Daze, Clone Aqualung, Clone Royal Oak and Clone Loft Supreme. Plus anything from Aphex and Aux 88 to 69 and Metro Area in between.

 

Pre-club hours (9pm til 12.30am-ish), courtyard out back, classic videogame/Detroit dance-off footage projected in the bar, absinthe/decent spirits/world beers on sale, nice bar staff, in an idiot-free environment hidden just off West St. Requests here or on Facebook if there's any (electronic) tracks you'd like to hear.
