Harleyman
But if they were kept on a collar and lead when leaving home with a resonsible adult their whereabouts would be known. It would be a cold day in hell when I lost my nights sleep escorting Max on his nocturnal roamings. He has a collar and a chip. He's also a feline with all the hunter killer instincts that the feline species possess. Normally he sleeps indoors but being a cat it only needs someone to leave the door ajar for him to take off and explore the night. I really think the OP knows nothing about cats and their behaviour whatsoever

Harleyman
But don't you ever think he may get lonely going out on his own in the dark ? Not our Max. He has a couple of buddies further down the street. They've formed a chorus. Shows nightly at around 1:00 AM
shims
Have u ever tried walking a cat on a lead. There are some strange people on here. It's a cats instinct to kill birds it's human nature. Snakes eat mice rats etc, I suppose you think they should only be given lettuce Numbers of some of our indigenous birds are dwindling. There are far, far too many cats around and I feel it would help it there was a legal requirement to make them wear a collar with a bell so they can't stalk and kill our wildlife. shims
No one owns a cat, they only feed it. They have no loyalty, or real affection. If a cat can get better food and accomadation elsewhere it will be off like a shot. This is probably why certain kinds of women are attracted to them, as it only women who keep them. My bold. While I'm sure that's not true, I would be curious to know the gender breakdown of owners. Most blokes I know can't stand the things.

Ghozer
Should reptile owners get in trouble for feeding live mice and insects to thier snakes or lizards? how about live worms etc to Fish? Cats hunt, they are a predatory animal, it's in thier nature and not something we can stop or control...

Vague_Boy
Surely a case could be easily made with the cat and the owner in the dock, both could then be sentenced with the owner being sent to prison for murder? Prison? For murder? Of a sparrow? A cat in court? How would it take the oath? Have you taken your medication today?
