I1L2T3
Or indeed how many of them got into the UK through sympathetic agents that may have infiltrated the immigration system, the government and other national authorities. I'd rather stick to what has been made public so far but if you have any evidence of this please share it.

Conrod
I'd rather stick to what has been made public so far but if you have any evidence of this please share it.There was a recent documantary which exposed people working in immigration who were issuing visas that should not have been granted. The individuals issuing the visas were themselves, shall we say, not lifelong citizens of the UK. I've visited the Victoria passport office and struggled to find a member of staff who could converse in anything but pigeon English.

Virtually every year you can be gauranteed a story about facilitation happening within the immigration system, from fast of tracking nannies, to fake degree certificates submitted with applications and dodgy immigration rep's. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4049057.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8489349.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8113558.stm http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-15410424 http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2010/268071/17univisas-couple http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/8528781.stm The truth is that there are people out there who have the manpower to exhaustively test any immigration system that the UK government can put out and there is not enough staff in the UKBA or UKVisas to cope, even without the proposed 33% staffing cuts. mj.scuba
OK taking on board what Mecky is saying, controversial suggestion; shouldn't something like UKBA only be staffed by British citizens?
Mecky
OK taking on board what Mecky is saying, controversial suggestion; shouldn't something like UKBA only be staffed by British citizens? But some of the stuff going off was supposedly undertaken by British Citizens so, clearly, that's not the answer.

I'm sure that vicar that was cought willingly marrying people for immigration purposes was a British citizen.

I1L2T3
I despair. What would it take to fix the system?
Mecky
I despair. What would it take to fix the system? You can't I'm afraid. If you try stopping immigration altogether you'll see numerous cases dragged before the courts and the government will lose; just look at the stuff in the public domain where the government has been defeated e.g. HSMP Forum, Pankina, Aleem or whatever. You would see numerous ECHR cases and you would also probably see countries pressing for economic sanctions against the UK.
