DerbyTup
Chicken is Chicken but why have some supermarkets been hiding the fact that they have halal meat ? Is it because it's a cut-throat business?
DerbyTup
To be frank i think it is a muslim thing. I thought it was a Jewish thing? Kosher food has to be untouched by human hand and blessed by a Rabbi doesn't it?

ANGELFIRE1
The answer is quite simple. In the develpoed world things progressed, old silly habits were discarded. Electric stunning did not exist when the Halal rules came into being. It should be one law/rule for all, if the regulations in the country have decided that an humane method should be used then end of story no falling back on a medieval tradition. Says it all. One Country - one law. Regards Angel.
Murphy Jnr
I have no problem with halal meat as I only eat halal or kosher meat. Anyone who says the slaughter method is cruel meat is murder simple really I'm assuming you are all vegetarians. I think it's the throat slitting that people find hard to accept, it doesn't fit well with the perception of humane despite (disputed) evidence to the contrary.
