What is the order of service at the registry office?

you need to arrive early if you want photos on the stairs. About 10 mins before the ceremony the bride and groom are called into the room where they check that all the details they have are correct and nothing has changed, and to also check which version of the vows you prefer. This is also when you give them the music you want to use. We had 3 different tracks, one to go in to, one for the signing and one for leaving to. They also give this to your designated person so nothing is left in the room.

They then give you the choice of waiting at the front whilst your guests walk in, or, the bride can go out again, the guests go in, and then the bride walks "down the aisle" such as it is.

The bride and groom remain at the front of the room whilst the registrar conducts the service. Photos are allowed throughout the service except when the actual signing takes place, they do however arrange the desk for a *mock signing* for the purpose of photos. They really do give you lots of time for all the photo's you need.

On leaving they give the licence to someone you have designated so you don't have to worry about carrying it in photo's. You then leave the Town Hall at the rear which leads you into the Peace Gardens where, if the weather is good you can have photos taken. Our back up was to use the Winter Gardens if the weather was bad but fortunately didn't need to :D

Hope all that made sense LOL

Congrats and have a great day .... we married on a Friday a month ago and it really did go smoothly at the Town Hall and have no complaints whatsoever ;)

You also need to know that the rooms are small, if any one takes a buggy in it will block some of the isle that you walk down.

as above be in at least 10 mins before to ensure that you get photos on the stairs. Some Friday's they don't allow this if the upstairs is in use.

Good luck with everything
