PATRICK SWEANY

Golden voiced Patrick Sweany’s recent move to Nashville has brought an impressive new album filled with killer musician’s and added to his musical gumbo. He still has that free and loose guitar style that flits between Blues, garage rock, soul and country akin to Dan Auerbach (who produced his previous 2 albums) and is a devastating live performer.

His latest record That Old Southern Drag was recorded to 2" tape in Nashville, Tennesee (Patrick's new home) and features contributions from Joe McMahan (Allsion Moorer, Webb Wilder, Mike Farris), Scott McEwan (Tarbox Ramblers), Tim Marks (Will Kimbrough, Taylor Swift), and Chris West (The Dynamites), among others. Southern Drag expands Patrick's roots music palette without losing his signature Deep Blues sound.

"Effortlessly cool, sunburt soul."- Nashville Tennessean

"His music has a loose, aggresive edge, but in his quiter moments, Sweany recalls the supple beauty of Ry Cooder's 70s readings of Depression-era pop blues." - MOJO (UK) "New Blues Explosion!"

"Sweany dips into the more folksy side of Blues, slinky R&B, early Rock & Roll, '70s Blues Rock and dirty Garage Blues. That's not to say that Sweany is for White Stripes fans only; the man has mad-crazy skills in whatever style he's exploring and redecorating, something even the staunchest "back in my day" curmudgeon is sure to appreciate if they give it an open-minded listen" - Mike Breen, Cincinnati CityBeat

"Patrick speaks the truth in his songs." - Dan Auerbach (Black Keys)

"Everything comes with love and commitment - this is full-blooded music of high quality, something of a treasure trove for people whose enthusiasms, like Patrick Sweany's, reach back through the last fifty years of great American music." - John Davy, FlyinShoes Review
