mumkin
Sainsbury's use a similar system for staff. It's an electronic box, red and green light. That's to stop individuals being picked on unfairly. But I don't think they have the right to conduct a body search at random, they can only ask staff to turn out their pockets. The procedure for a body search is much more complicated and I'm not sure even that is legally enforceable. To be able to do a body search, you have to attend a course which is authorised by the Home office. Once completed, you can then perform a body search but only by consent of the suspect. The search can be "forced" but only in the presence of the police.........but not always then as there are specific guidelines such as reasonable suspicion and reasonable force. It's a minefield. bigstu92
No! its an infringement on human rights! I shall be ringing up their head office tomorrow to register my disgust! Fortunately I work in the national media, they may be sorry they subjected me to this? I work at a b and Q, the bag and ball is designed for employees after their shift, an infringement on your Human Rights it is not and reading some of the posts your putting up your just acting like children, "I'm not going here because I'll get strip searched" if you picked a personal ball were not going to get latex gloves and cavity inspect you we just ask if you have anything on you and if you beep on the way out after saying no then security will search you, it's a random one they do every so often as they obvious can't do it to everyone

If somebody is stood at the exit with a box of balls, that's somebody that could be monitoring CCTV. I've spent tens of thousands of pounds at B&Q over the years and I would refuse to participate, and wouldn't shop there again.

We have security guards, but due to their nature I can't disclose their job roles, there are a few, we do have some one monitoring cctv and others patrolling the store to guarantee customer and employee safety, If it is the case they've asked you to do the bag and ball then don't be arsy with them you have to understand it's our job to protect stock loss, If you don't feel like coming back then that's entirely up to you

I'd refuse & demand a refund for everything I'd just bought, then never return. They can keep all their stock & not sell any if that's what they want to do.
