I guess it's something people are more interested in when they are in their teens? Then when you actually start having a sex life, it's a bit redundant... Also, as a adult there is the issue of ethics and the ethics surrounding the porn industry - As far as I understand it, the straight porn market is pretty vile, lot's of trafficing etc... Gay porn isn't a whole lot better... It's fine when it's all consenting adults etc, but some of the heavier stuff doesn't seem to be... Just my opinion!

I would tend to agree, but ethics also lie with the viewer too?

That's what I'm saying - as a kid, you have no clue about how these films/mags are made, but as a adult you do and by then if the interest hasn't waned through you having your own sex life, then knowing how these things are created will probably see that you stop using them... Unless you are really weird!

Sorry, missed the bit about "as a adult there is the issue of ethics".

My apologies.

So if I watch porn, it has to be ethical ? Fair trade porn ? If not I'm weird ? And trying to read between the lines of your earlier post I must be a hairs breath from watching kiddie porn ? No. That's like saying if a drive a car I want to cause accidents. I don't doubt there is pretty horrific stuff out there but the people who make trainers in the far east don't have a ball either. Does that make me weird for wearing nike rather than free range sandals ?

If it's porn where the 'stars' are forced into the situation, drugged, etc, then yeah, this suggests a weird element to me... Sometimes difficult to tell if they're using trafficked/drugged people too... Its a mine field really, as it does attract a seedy element...

Not sure you phrased that right. Finding porn where the stars might abused is one thing looking for it another again. I'd like to think most people would move on from anything obviously nasty, and yes it can be a minefield..…I'm starting to sound like a porn afficiando rather than casual viewer. You should have been here last there were loads of positive people. Now I'm the dirty old sod speaking up for the "industry...."

The seedy bit is right though. But why ? Surely if it sex/porn was less stigmatised in terms of the user and the "actors" it would be easier to police. It's not like mainstream porn isn't heavily regulated already.

I'm not sure that it is regulated well enough - not for the underage kids that have been used and become famous, as people thought them older... It is something that attracts damaged people, not too many on the level people go into porn, so there is a element of further abusing the abused even when it appears to be consenting adults... This is why the industry can't shake the seedy stigma... I never gave any of this a seconds thought when I was a kid and trying to order mags with bad cheques! But as a adult, when you start to see what it's all about and you have your own as varied as you choose it to be sex life, this stuff doesn't titilate anymore and raises more questions than anything else :)

Because sex on film is perceived/projected as enjoyable, that doesn't mean that what is going on in reality may be the opposite. To film the reality would put you off buying/watching porn...unless your tastes were extreme.

What is vulnerable?

kids, someone who needs the money for drugs, women who are tricked into it by a devious boyfriend etc etc..
