Bulgarian
citalopram was not good for 4 weeks made me feel 1000 times worse then did nothing I also sufferd insomnia Same here, I stopped taking it (after about 6 months), as it was obviously not helping. Actually, deciding to stop taking it was quite uplifting, and the start of "recovery"
missymoo73
Yes I was diagnosed 10 years ago with depression. But I stupidly hid it for quite years and then after one incident that was it everything caved in and I wasnt able to function. Its a terrible condition. There is help out there though. Counselling didnt really work for me. I went on to Fluoxitine (excuse spelling) for 7 months and thats all I needed. I suffered panic attacks and still do but now I can control them and I try not to put myself in a position that brings them on ie crowded places. doom bringer
yeah crowds I dont enjoy but force my self in to them some times as I dont want to become house bound or agoraphobic I think they call it ? I also sufferd for years and had no idea I was ill ? untill one day the whole world came crashing in and I snapped lo long story involving a police helicopter 2 ambulance and a army of on foot coppers [ dont worry I didnt hurt anybody else ] so it was not criminal lol
Mrs Overall
I'm limited to what i can take as i'm on meds for Arthritis and high blood pressure.. Ive had 2 lots of CBT, both times i "blagged" my way out as i didn't feel it was doing me any good, i felt i couldn't open up properly.. but Ive only ever heard good things about it... My latest self help is getting out (anywhere) every day, even just walking around our estate, fresh air, trying to have a reasonable diet, cutting down on my Red wine.. breathing exercises on my ipod, definitely, definitely getting enough quality sleep, but not laying in bed late. Theres also a good book online from Amazon called "The feeling good handbook" by David D Burns MD, it runs along the lines of cbt, but you can read it at your own leisure.. These things dont come easy to me, but i MAKE myself do them when i can, if i dont feel like doing them one day i leave it, but not for too long.. Hope this helps someone feel better... fruitisbad
dare we ask how and with what help or med pm if you dont want to make public fluoxetine, a few sessions of cbt and stopped doing drugs every day <thumbsup> started forcing myself to socialise again and appreciating what good friends I have still have bad days and could do with knocking the drink on the head, but compared with how low I was during the first half of this year feeling a lot better. Agent Orange
I suffered a few years ago. I think the hardest thing was coming to terms and getting help. I still have the occasional wobble, but I know how to manage the depression now and can combat it without the need of anti-depressants.
